The Called!

Today is a day to be… go ahead and fill out what you think today should be… I think that today should be a day where we, yes I say WE all grab a hold of something lasting!  Today is a day to be on Fire, passion that burns for the Lord.  I have a desire to be completely lost in the Lord and I will stay there!  Last night our worship team got together for some fellowship and I left feeling recharged, redirected, redesigned!  With a simple evening of spending time together and remembering who we are doing ‘The Stuff’ for!  JESUS, it’s all about Him!  I am so very excited to see where the Lord leads us!  Last night our worship pastor said that sometimes we get the thoughts of not being good enough, not having the right skills, no knowledge of  anything.  Thoughts that we are worthless, no good for nothing.  IT’S NOT ABOUT US!!!  It’s about HIM!  Funny thing about equipping the called and not calling the equipped is….we don’t have it all together, we still mess up, we have to act like Humans until we go home…doesn’t that give a little hope?  Doesn’t that brighten your face?

Lord I ask that you would burn in our hearts, you would root in our souls!  You are the one this is for!  God fall on us and equip us, teach us, move us….don’t leave us in a stagnant place!

We are all called, called to be His children in whom He delights.  He loves.  It’s NOT about the talents we have, the skill that we have…it’s…all…about…Him!!

Come Lord and revive our souls!!!

Old Highlighted Bibles

Last night a good friend of mine came over.  We had an interesting evening discussing things in the bible.  From what color we use to highlight verses to why on earth should the Song of Solomon talk so graphic and then share our favorite verses.  I pulled out all my bibles and we started looking at em, reading em out loud.  Reading the notes in the margins was fun, thinking back to why you wrote something.  Certain books were highlighted up a storm, while others looked as thought the pages were still newly sealed together from never being looked at.  Reading in an old bible I had, and remembering a time in my life when all I wanted to do was read the bible was fun and brought back excitement in my gut.  Back then, I could care less about work, responsibilities.  I wanted to read my bible and use my 5 different colored highlighters and ball point pen and go to town on reading and underlining!  I have journal after journal with verses in them and notes along side of what I was learning or what the Lord had been showing me.  It kind of made me think, ‘Man, I have read more of the bible than i thought!’.  You know when you kind of go through, a dry spell if you will, or where you get yourself busy and don’t have that time set out to really read the word?  It is really fun to look back and read all of the notes I wrote and all the verses I highlighted, the studies I did on certain subjects, with all the verse titles scratched out or circled depending on weather or not it was what I was looking for.

After flippin through em last night really gave my heart a stir.  Like a fresh desire to read the word more!  Sometimes it’s way fun to look back at old things and remember how far you have come!

Catching up question!

I love the feeling you get when you meet up with people you haven’t seen in a long time or perhaps someone you haven’t talked to much… but then comes the question, ‘What’s New?’  Your mind is flooded with empty thoughts as you try and think of something to say.  Something interesting to not make it sound like your life is way boring.  I feel that way sometimes, when people ask and all I have to say is, ‘The same ol’ same ol’!’  I wonder why we feel that way, we feel so inadequate, so loser-ish when we say that our lives are not filled with excitement!  We wish we could say that we accomplished all these activities yesterday and have planned more today and you should see what I have planned for the rest of my life…..filled with STUFF TO DO!  Like some kind of agenda has to be met to be more of a person.  It’s almost like an insecurity when that question gets asked and you suddenly want to make something up.  What if we were to answer like this: ‘Well I am learning to quiet myself  before the Lord!’  What if you don’t have a plan?  You just get up everyday and ask the Lord, ‘What’s in store today, Lord?  What would you have me do?  Show me your will!’

With that in mind… I am in the search to find a different answer.  I wanna be able to say something that is changing, life changing.  And that should be my relationship with God!  Shouldn’t the things I’m learning about the Lord be always changing and worth saying something?  So I am making a decision now that whenever that question gets asked of me, the first thing I’m gonna do is evaluate my life with the Lord, cause if that is not changing and new things aren’t happening, then I need to change something.  Somewhere I must have gone off, put something in place of that quietness.  So come on ask me what’s new and I’ll tell you!  HA!  Now…tell me what’s new in your life!!

Writing, Drawing, Reading, Painting… Creativity!

Do you ever find yourself in a place where you could crawl up with a pencil and paper and draw a picture that explains how you feel.  Maybe take out a great book to get lost in.  Perhaps pull out a piece of lined paper and a pen and write down rhyming words to an expression your heart is beating!  With hot coffee, or hot chocolate next to you, you feel the warmth of the day ahead of you and want to escape into it’s creativity.  I’m not much of a painter, but I would gather to think that one would love to sit in a freshly lit room and with a canvas in front and a paintbrush in hand, you have a sense of excitement to blend all the colors together…Ahh, the ability to express, share and explain the things that flow through your mind.  It was really cold yesterday morning, but I didn’t mind.  There was a smell of wood burning that brought a smile to my face and made me wanna stay home in the comforts of my home and snuggle up with books, paper and creativity at my finger tips!

I love the feeling when the Lord puts excitement inside your being, kind of like the stirring of when you begin to create something of your own.  You know when you can’t wait to read the bible or write in your Journal.  The sunsets are wonderful and bring a warmth to your heart that makes you wanna keep driving til you are on top of the tallest mountain, and are able to feel the clouds illuminate through the beams of the setting sun!

Mmm…
